Millions in the UK were cheated into giving up more than what services they actually got

Clayton, VIC -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/31/2012 -- New research revealed just a few days ago that millions of people in the UK face unanticipated costs on the day of moving their houses. Money Advice service, according to propertywire.com, revealed that these costs were the ones movers hadn’t planned for and therefore, weren’t a part of their overall budget.

This research mission aims to launch the New Smart Move Campaign, which surveyed around a thousand people who had moved in the last three years, about their respective experiences. A hefty 68 percent claimed that the accumulated moving costs had them shocked and 37 percent of those who faced any costs said that they were more than anticipated. 20 percent added that they had to pay for certain aspects that were completely out of the blue.

Research further revealed that 72 percent of movers wanted a hassle free method that could eliminate these additional costs. Overall people who moved ended up spending around £694, but the total amount differed according the basis of age and gender. People aged 55 and older ended up spending almost double the amount of those who were just from 18 to 24.

Sellers need to be realistic about asking prices, which should be done by looking at economy

NSW, Australia -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/31/2012 -- Surveyors, according to BBC, state that they are expecting the prices of the houses to be falling in the nearing months. They have asked sellers to be realistic about the prices they asked for their houses. The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors carried out a survey, of which the results revealed that of all the people who were surveyed in this process, 23 percent expect the prices to fall in the next few months.

According to the survey, there were a similar proportion of people who suggested the same drop in prices in the month of July, and the housing industry did see the drop. However, since July, the prices have become somewhat stable. But the survey also suggests that the stability does not seem to continue any longer.

According the Office of National Statistics report, the prices were up by 2.3% at the end of the month of June, and they went down to 0.5% by the end of July, as expected by the surveyors.

Peter Bolton King of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors said,

"If vendors want to sell their homes quickly, they will have to be realistic in their price expectations."

This survey is followed by Halifax and Nationwide house price surveys. According to Nationwide, in four of the past five months, the prices have fallen down. Halifax shared similar ideas, stating that the prices condition will remain the same and can only grow worse if the recessions became worse.

One of the most comprehensive surveys, which is most widely regarded by various entities, is the Land Registry Survey, they stated that the rise and fall of the prices in UK varies with geography. The prices were rising in London during the month of June and July while they fell in Yorkshire and Humber during the same months.
